"La Gardienne des Clefs" in French (The keys keeper), is one of my first characters in a recent illustrated books of mine. The keys are simply symbolising the access to the dream world and this character is the one who watch the frontier between dream and reality.
I wanted her to be a creature of the "between". Between two world, between the male and female gender, between vegetal and animal... In my mind, she would be a total spirit of the nature and being, like the old preceltic god Kernunos mixed with the godmother Keridwen...
I mainly worked on photoshop for this picture and as for many of my digital work, I plane to make it sooner or later in oil painting...
